After a previous post about saving dresses from the brink of ruthless Ebay sales I have been spurred onto re-create certain garments that are lacking in a certain sparkle.
I don't know about you but whenever I think of sparkle I think.......SEQUINS!!!!
So I dug out a plain black original 50's bullet bra that was beautiful but I decided it was lacking in gold and green sequins.
Now, sequin sewing should come with a warning......do not begin if you want to loose hours of your life attaching tiny sparkly things by hand. The bra has been following me around wherever I go, allowing me to fill any spare time I have with my sequin duties.
Train journeys are good for sequinn-ing- especially when your travel buddy is lost in doodling.
Sequinn-ing with Dogs around sometimes isn't a good idea.
Adding the last of the teeeeny bloody things.
BUT I feel the effort has really paid off. I'm actually surprised I got it finished, I've been slightly glued to the Olympics. Going from a non-tv watcher to a 8 hours per day viewer!
The amount of sequins sewn onto this outfit is enough to rival a Dita Von Teese ensemble, and it is special enough to be saved for some spectacular event.
Whatcha think? If I was a Burlesquer this would certainly be an onstage act.....sequins are a girls best friend!
Love as always, Lucille xx
Wow that looks great and good job!
ReplyDeleteIt looks sooo fantastic! I think I might loose my patience a few hours in and throw it all out.

Lovely! It came out so well! I plan to sequin more items just for burlesque acts, I can't resist!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You're a crazy girl after my own heart.
ReplyDelete(I've also become glued to the Olympics! What better reason to be glued to the tv for 8 hours? Plus it's guilt free, it only happens every 4 years.)
