Year goes by.
This time last year I was loving every second of this 50's themed party at a friends wedding. I styled quite a number of the ladies and gents hair that were there. Think I had quite a queue at one point!
I was a diner girl complete with pinny, name badge, and a dirty cigarette.

You don't always need your swirls, girls.
I adore my swirls. I adore giving ladies beautiful swirls. But some days, you ain't in the mood for a swirl. Take today for example. I'm feeling slightly ruffled, and my fro does too. The curls are leftover from a pin curl style yesterday and have been taken out, ruffled, not brushed, pushed up and pinned in. Perfect for a day when you ain't feeling prim and proper.
And talkin' of hair, here is a sneak peak of when I was let loose on some beautiful girls locks...

Floozy wears flowers.
If you look closely, you can see my new/old 1940's black bra peepin' from under my blouse. Don't look too closely though as you will also see my very 21st century blackberry. The only blip in my otherwise vintage life!
I need to stop flashing her. But I can't help it. It's my new Hawaiian wrap trousers. You know the temptation of flashing a pin when wearing any wrap style, right girls?!

Pastel Pompin'.
All day I've had The Stray Cats on repeat and it's makin' me strut. There's something about rockabilly music that gives you a little attitude. Good attitude mind. And since I got home, I've let the inner Wanda Woodward in me out. I usually try to tone it down and be a smidgen more feminine and floaty, but today is a Thursday and I feel like being bad. Watch out hep-cats.

The trouble with being clumsy.
If I turned up to work not wearing my smart frocks and skirts, I think the clients at the salon would be slightly dissapointed. And I hate disappointing people. They really seem to enjoy what I'm wearing as much as I do!However, wearing your favourite frocks to work comes with a price. Especially when you work with the enemy; bleach. Unfortunately I am a clumsy person. All it takes is a tiny blob to land on your beloved vintage find and it can all end in tears. Yesterday I came home with another dirty orange stain on my black Vivien of holloway skirt. The one that goes with EVERYTHING. Sat in mourning, imagining life without my trusty skirt, I was handed this pen by my friend. It looks like a massive felt tip. And that's what it is. You just colour over your mistake, iron on a hot setting and as if by magic the bleach dissappears.
Ha, that'll teach you Mr.Bleach. I no longer live in fear of you.

It's just Tough Cookies.

I came across Toni Macfarlane, well actually she came across me a few weeks ago. She stalked me, found out where I worked and dragged me to her flat to show me the threads she's has made for me and demanded I put them on right away.
That was all of course a big joke. I was very happy to help Toni when she told me about her project and asked me to model for her. I have respect for her for not following all the other students that seem to just make strange, alien clothes for alien girls. And anyway, Toni has a wickedly cool pair of spex.
After the photos me and Toni discussed working together in the future. It's always fun finding someone with the same interests as you. Toni has a few more projects coming up, so can make fabulous clothes and I shall create some fabulous hair to go with! Watch out!
We found this doorway. I love the colour of the mint green paintwork and pink pants together. Looks delicious huh?! The first photo is my favourite, you can see how the top ties together so nicely at the back. The headscarf I am wearing was made of some damn hot silk. Damn pricey too, the most expensive headscarf I've ever worn!

Cover up.
So, here it is. You're in serious need for your roots to be done, and that hairstyle that you've just created is making your dark roots look even more noticable. You don't want to let your perfectly rolled hair down, you need a cover up fast. (I'm beginning to sound like a make-up advert).
Hair flowers are the perfect cover up for many hair sins. I think that's what they were actually invented for. Just clip in over those dark root lines....
...and no one will ever know that you are a lazy so and so!
